2010.014 Abalone

The spiral shape of the abalone is something near and dear to me. It reminds me that the divine is everywhere, and of the beautiful and almost unfathomable interconnectedness of everything. They’re also just plain beautiful, like so much of the natural world. Not only the sinuous and captivating shape, but also the subtle, luminous colour. Taking this photo reminds me that I would love to spend a day just photographing abalones, to explore those colours and curves.
