2010.034 Ope’ning?

I can understand a cabinet maker who isn’t a great speller, though I would expect attention to detail from a fine one. It’s the sign-maker I have an issue with. Surely, spelling is near the top of the desired skills for anyone who is in the business of putting things in print. Mistakes happen, of course, but this sign has been up for a few days now. My co-worker Heather and I considered using up a bottle of white out to cover an ‘n’. But the question is, which ‘n’? I think we decided on the first one, because ‘ope ning’ is just more interesting than ‘open ing’.
